CAIRO, Dec 14 (Reuters) – Hamas’ \u200bchief negotiator Khalil Al-Hayya said \u200bon Sunday that a targeted assassination by Israel on Saturday of \u2060one of the group’s senior commanders threatens the “viability of the truce” in the enclave.<\/p>\n

In a televised address, Hayya, who is also \u200bexile Gaza Hamas chief, confirmed the killing of \u200dthe group’s senior commander Raed \u200bSaed in an Israeli strike a day earlier.<\/p>\n

It was the highest-profile assassination of a senior Hamas figure since a U.S.-backed Gaza ceasefire deal came into effect in October.<\/p>\n
